Welcome to Crimea Life, a newsletter about Americans living in Crimea. This is a rebranding of my YouTube channel, former called American In Crimea. My wife and I live in Crimea fulltime. We have been spending time here since Ukraine as the government in charge, and now we live here under Russia’s mentorship of the peninsula.
My wife is an English teacher who used to teach at one of the most reputable universities in Ukraine. I write cybersecurity policy documentation for major corporations, have been in the cyber and information warfare space for many years, and I also co-host Scenes from the Evolution and am one of the producer of Scott Ritter Extra - Ask the Inspector Lightning Round. I also write non-political articles for Scott Ritter Extra.
I hold few political allegiances, and do not entertain Russia versus Ukraine arguments. We have family on both sides of the conflict. My wish is for peace, and to not have the United States and NATO end life on earth (ok - you saw my big political statement now).
I grew up in the United States, the land of disinformation and propaganda. I was fortunate enough to have a high school biology teacher that was from Saint Petersburg Russia, who gave me a love for the Soviet Union people and culture.
With the newsletter I hope to bring news, understanding, and viewpoints of life in Crimea.
